This is a hand forged and hand ground 5" dagger. It comes with a custom leather sheathe so you can carry it with you in your daily life.
This blade started off as half of a pipeliner file. I cut a full size file in half, then forged the tang out, and then ground down the knife to size. It has a flat back because the file itself was flat on one side.

The leather sheathe is double stacked at the knife section with a shim at the throat for ease of use. It has a simple cut for a belt. This sheathe is wet molded to fit the blade and guard. It has mahogeny dyed on it.
The blade, guard, and pommel are all bare ground steel. They will all require a light coating of oil to protect them and to insure they last for years and years.
The handle is made from a section of Purpleheart Wood fixed on to a rat tail tang with the pommel threaded and epoxied.
The Blade is made out of high carbon steel. Exact make unknown because it is rescued file steel. Guess it is 1095 steel or something harder / tougher. Estimating the hardness around 60, it was VERY tough to grind.
It is hand forged by me out of a coal forge with a big hammer and anvil, and hardened with a propane forge. Then I grind it into shape, and finish with conditioning belts.
This knife already has an edge on it and is very sharp.
It will be shipped coated with gun oil. Remember to occasionally oil the knife to give it a long life.
