MLB'S RYAN KLESKO'S 1988 WESTMINSTER HIGH SCHOOL YEARBOOK
Another nice collectible for your consideration. You are looking on one(1) 1988 Westminster High School Yearbook with future MLB All-Star player Ryan Klesko. This product is for the 1988 Westminster School Yearbook (Westminster, California). Featured in this book in the Junior class is Ryan Klesko. There is no student index in this book but I was able to find Klesko in several photographs, he may be present in others. While Klesko would mostly play first base in the Majors, he was a pitcher in high school. Klesko is shown in the Generations Dance Royal Court (page 45), in his Junior class yearbook photo (page 97), in the Varsity Baseball Team group photo (page 190) and doing some warm up pitches (page 191).
The book is in very good condition. The binding and spine seem fairly strong. There are no loose or missing pages. There are a lot of student/staff signatures in the front and back of the book and some throughout it. I did not notice Klesko's signature among them. The cover looks much better then it scanned. Former professional baseball first baseman/outfielder Ryan Anthony Klesko was born June 12, 1971 in Westminster, California.
The Atlanta Braves selected Ryan Klesko in the 5th round of the 1989 MLB Draft out of Westminster High School. Klesko made his Major League debut on September 12, 1992, he played for the Atlanta Braves (1992-1999), the San Diego Padres (2000-2006) and the San Francisco Giants (2007). Klesko hit at least 21 home runs in eight of his thirteen seasons, with a career high of 34 in 1996. He was a key member of the 1995 Atlanta Braves team that beat the Cleveland Indians in the '95 World Series. During the Fall Classic, Klesko became the first player to hit a home run in three consecutive World Series road games. Klesko had his best season in 2001, hitting .286 with 30 home runs, 113 RBIs and 23 stolen bases, and earning a starting position on the 2001 National League All-Star team.
