Since the 17th Century, Bohemian glassmakers have been producing a glass mass that closely resembles natural crystal. Bohemia Crystal is prized for its weight, clarity and hardness. When shaped into glass pieces, hand-cut in the traditional Bohemia rich-cut pattern, and then polished, Bohemia Crystal becomes jewel-like, reflecting light in a way that only a diamond can.
The featured Dish is entirely hand made of 24% leaded Bohemia Crystal. It is free-form blown by a master blower using a blow-pipe, cut by hand and then polished. Each step of the process is done by hand, by skilled glass artists who have had years of training. Each item is a unique original, hence there are slight differences in the weight, dimensions, thickness and cuts.
This beautiful Dish features four equal sections and is 8 inches square with two handles. The numerous cuts are in a gorgeous pattern that promotes a lusterous light reflection. This is a wonderful and useful item - it looks terrific empty, but also can be used for candies, nuts, small real or glass fruits, trinkets and many other little treasures. This Dish was originally designed in Czechoslovakia.
