Aster Needle Unicum Violet Callistephus Chinensis is an annual aster with outstanding features. Also commonly called Spider Aster for its distinctive looking flowers, this China Aster reaches 24 inches in height and features sturdy stems that are topped with extra large violet flowers. Aster Unicum Violet begins to bloom in summer and blooms all season long until frost providing spectacular dark-violet color and brining butterflies and bees to the garden.

Violet Spider Aster is a long time favorite annual flower for cutting gardens, and China Aster looks lovely in borders, flower beds and containers. Callistephus Chinensis can be grown in full sun or partial shade, and despite Aster Unicum grows best in rich, well-drained soil, this plant is not picky and adapts to various soil conditions. China Aster makes a nice cut flower.
