Aster Needle Unicum Yellow is one variety of the common aster which is a widely adapted summer annual. This particular China Aster is also called Spider Aster for its long, spindly petals that resemble the legs of spiders. The Spider Aster produces enormous in size, striking, yellow aster flowers. Butterflies and bees like to visit blooming Callistephus Chinensis.

Yellow Spider Aster is an excellent border plant and makes a fine display in bedding. Aster Needle like full sun, but it tolerates semi-shaded areas if a plant receives at least six hours of full sunlight a day. China Asters is drought tolerant, and the established plant is very adaptive to various soil conditions. Aster Needle or so called Spider Aster makes a wonderful, unique looking cut flower with a long vase life.
