This is a wonderful card holder from 1880 to mid 1890s. The gold piece in the center has never been engraved. The tortoise front and back are held together by material. The inside has a graphite pencil (the top of the pencil may be bone or ivory) and two pockets. The inside is a heavy pink satin like material. This piece is in wonderful condtion for its age. The case measures approximately 3 3/4 X 2 1/2 .
