Offering this new K62AG TuffTorq hydrostatic transaxle with 1"-diameter axle shafts and the optional differential lock, to replace and upgrade the K46 hydrostatic transaxle on your MTD, TroyBilt or Cub Cadet lawn/garden tractor, especially Export models. This transaxle is fully factory lubricated – ready to bolt-in and run.
This transaxle will give you a heavy-duty unit that will improve the performance and durability of your Cub Cadet, TrotBilt or MTD tractor that originally had the K46DV or similar ¾”-axle transaxle. This K62 has a foot-pedal F-N-R control, just like your K46.
Photo 1 shows the right-front 3/4 view; Photo 2 shows the left-rear 3/4 view. Photo 3 shows the right side linkages, and Photo 4 shows the bottom-mounted differential-lock linkage. Photo 5 shows the ID label for one of these units.
Retail/List price on this transaxle is $1,367.08 from MTD. I can sell these for $775.00 plus shipping, a 43% discount – almost ½ off!
Since these K62 transaxles have 1"-diameter axles, you will also need wheel hubs with 1" bores, with the "Double-D" outer ends to fit the MTD axles. I also offer these -- Photos 6 & 7 -- in Cub Yellow. They cost $125.00 per pair (MTD MSRP is over $250 each). They do include 18x6.50-8 tires. If you have a different-size tire and would like to re-use your tires, I can remove these tires and sell you just the wheels for $95.00 per pair. If you have 4-on-4 demountable wheels, see next paragraph.
The K62AG transaxle has slightly different mounting hardware and linkages, so you would need to modify yours or install a Conversion Kit. The Conversion Kit for mounting the transaxle and its linkages costs $224.00 and includes the crossmember, 1” wheel hubs (if your tractor has the 4-on-4 demountable wheels), control linkages and hardware. If you need the welded-hub wheels as noted in the previous paragraph, deduct $54.00 from the Kit price.
The original drive belt is 91.1” long; the K62 tractor specifies a 90” belt. If there isn’t enough motion in the belt idlers to tighten the original belt, or if your original belt is worn, the correct new belt is $48.00.
If you want to use the new differential lock and don’t want to fabricate your own linkage, I offer the Differential-Lock Linkage Installation Kit for $184.00. This Kit includes all the brackets, linkages, and hardware to install the Cub Cadet differential-lock activation linkage.
You may also need to cut a hole in the rear chassis panel for overflow-tank clearance, if the tank will interfere with the panel when the transaxle is installed. Photo 8 shows this hole on a Husqvarna lawn tractor.
This is an 'A'-Input transaxle -- it mounts in the mower with the input pulley, shift arm and brake AHEAD OF the axle. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THIS TRANSAXLE on any rider where the transaxle is mounted with the input pulley, brake and shift arm BEHIND the axle, as it is not engineered for this mode of operation.
QUESTIONS? Please -- if you are attempting to use this transaxle to replace a different transaxle -- before you ask a "Will-it-fit?" question, compare the measurements of your transaxle to the dimensions I have listed above for this transaxle, and note the Model and Serial Numbers off your current transaxle. Yes, that may require crawling under the mower with a scale, tape measure, flashlight and notepad, as well as a rag to carefully clean off dirt and grease. In your question, also include the Model and Serial Number off the mower. Thanks!

FEEDBACK: Our Feedback is 100%, which is good. The latest Feedback, however, is in December of 2011, which may raise questions. The reason for this is because we had to drop PayPal as an Approved Payment Method in our Store due to eCrater’s and PayPal’s restrictions, and the only way Feedback can be left is if we show PayPal as an Approved Payment Method and the Buyer pays with PayPal through the eCrater Checkout. For this reason, there are no Feedbacks since December of 2011, even though we’ve had hundreds of satisfied customers since then. If you would like to get a referral from a recent customer near you, please let us know. We have nothing to hide, and your satisfaction is our priority.
