This is a new pro type 3/4# bag of encapsulated fertilizer product. It is a Japanese reformulation of a familiar product called Osmocote (tm.). This particular fertilizer [17-6-8] product was reformulated on the same principle of slow release, but with more control over a longer period of time. This formula releases in a triple stage across a steady 9 months. The original formula as well as this one uses a polyeurethane coating over the fertilizer inside. Since it has a permeable membrane, the plant watering contact allows a controlled amount of nutrient release on a daily basis. The polueurethane encapsulation in this product also has trace nutrients and chelated minerals and elements designed also for an initial quick release and then a continuous release over time. This can be added to the top of the soil or mixed in with your bonsai soil as my sensui does with hers every year. It is used at the rate of about 1 level teaspoon per 6" pot. It can be thrown on the topsoil of any of your training bonsai for effect. 3/4# bag will do about 20-50 plants for one year easily. Handling is 1.50 for one item or many items in combo.
