Chen style Taiji Single Sword is one kind of short weapon in Taiji Boxing routine. It is created by Chen WangTing, who inhabited Chenjiagou Village, Wenxian County, Henan Province, during the Late Ming Dynasty and the Early Qing Dynasty. It has been widely spread in Chenjigou Village in recent hundreds of years, as one of the oldest weapon routines. There are 49 postures in Chen style Taiji Single Sword. This routine is characterized by reasonable layout, compact connecting and legible sword technique sword technique of snap, hang, thrust upward, hack, prick, push and neutralize, etc. combines with the body work and footwork of Taiji Boxing, thus possessing changes of sudden hardness and softness, sudden disappearing and appearing, close adherence, inter follow and prompt movement.
