This unique design offers a rich aged copper toned body with 8 symmetrical notes that have been polished to a sheen, 4 of them repeatedly anodized. The 4 large triangular notes on the side are the high notes and very easy to hit and slap djembe style. The colors of the 4 straight tines vary subtly in color between dark blue/purple, to a fine rainbow mixed with an earthy rust. The entire body is covered in layers of protective gloss to add sheen and longevity.
This drum is made unique like all our drums by the inclusion of tuning putty on the underside of each of the 8 tines so that notes can be sharped or flattened to suit personal preference and allow the owner the ability to tune and maintain their instrument- extra putty is also included just to be nice.
Again because we feel that it is so important to be able to have the personal control to maintain and tune your instrument forevermore also included is a special hand-sized tuning blade to do larger adjustments, giving the owner the ability to completely alter the scale of the whole drum if after years of playing you find another note-set you like better and never need to buy another drum if you don't want to. It could easily become am heirloom.
Keep in mind that the sound of any of our drums through the speakers in a camera can hardly compare with their sound in person. And even though the videos are often taken indoors, even with a small amp, played right these drums can produce enough sound to fill an auditorium.
We also sell piezoelectric pickups that can be removed or attached per individual preference to make the drum electric. Simply stick it on to the drum, plug in any regular guitar cord from your drum into an amp, and let the good times roll. Being a full bodied instrument that relies purely on resonance, this works extremely well electrically with any wide range of effects.
Custom made mallets are also included making the instrument extremely easy to play for anyone age 1 to infinity - and with so many subtleties, the avid player can enjoy spending years mastering the nuances of each individual drum.
