Offered is a hardbound copy with a dust jacket of Peter Matthiessen's book SAND RIVERS, a first edition, first printing of the book. Photos are by Hugo van Lawick, illustrated throughout. Off-white cloth covers the boards and spine, covers are plain but the spine is decorated with Blue and red text. The dust jacket is illustrated, a photo of elephants arriving at a watering hole, end papers with a map. Approximately 7" x 10" with 213 pages with a notes section in the back.
The books cover and the upper edges of the pages has some foxing; there is an inscription on the first half title page. The corner of the dust cover is clipped. Other than this, the book is in great condition: pages are clean the binding is firm and the corners square, maybe a little shelf wear at the bottom of the spine. The dust jacket is just really beginning to show wear: very small damage where the paper wraps the boards, some discoloration at the edges inside. Overall a solid book.
