Offered is a copy of a 1998 book, edited by Maria Kourebanas (Gourmet magazine editor) and Carl Sontheimer (The Pleasures of Cooking creator and developer of the Cuisinart) THE PLEASURES OF COOKING FRUITS & VEGETABLES, with input from some experts in the field including James Beard, Jacques Pépin and family, Dinah Shore, and Lucy Wang. This is not strictly a vegetarian cookbook. This is a first edition, first printing copy of the book. Red cloth covers the boards and spine, the only decoration being gilt text on the spine. The dust jacket is brightly illustrated all around, though the back is primarily a rectangle where the names of contributors is in black text, the spine primarily white with black text. Approximately 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" with 298 pages, illustrated by Agni Saucier.
This book appears like new, likely it was never used and so would make a fine gift. There are some price stickers on the back of the dustjacket, one over the original UPC code, another on the inside back flap. Otherwise, the book's pages are clean, the binding very tight, corners of the cover and pages sharp.
