On Sunday, June 15, 1997 on Adeline Street between Alcatraz and Ashby in Berkeley, CA, Berkeley Juneteenth Association Inc. and the City of Berkeley cosponsored the Berkeley Juneteenth Festival. Entertainment included Norman Connors and his Starship Arkestra featuring Ollie Woodson of the Temptations and Denise Stewart with teenage sax man Howard Wiley (4 PM); Domingo & Friends (Blues and R&B, 3 PM); Brino Brown & Band with Michael Cheadle (R&B, 2 PM); Hotap Dancers (African Dance Troope, 1 PM); Gods Creation (Gospel, Noon); and The Leon Williams Quartet (Jazz, 11 AM). The event was to include Arts, Crafts, Food, Music and Cultural Activities.
This poster is new, and in great shape. There are some light dings in the poster caused by handling, the heaviest of which is just above Brino Brown on the poster. The poster would look great in a frame, and is signed by the artist in silver metal sharpie on the lower right. Measures 13 1/8" x 19 1/4", the poster is printed in many colors on heavier, glossy stock.
