This tool is specially designed to assist in location electrical shorts, grounds, or breaks in spark plug wires.
This tool can be used on ALL types of ignition systems as long as it used conventional spark plug wires, it will NOT work on the wireless type ignition systems when you have a coil for each spark plug and NO wires.
This will work with HEI systems, standard coils, MDS multi-spark systems, and even conventional points systems.
To use this tool you simply start your vehicles engine and take this tool and clamp the alligator clip to ground and then using the tools probe end with the half round notch in the end simply slide the tool down along the length of each wire, if you have a defective plug wire or a crack in the insulation of the spark plug wire you will see a spark jump to the tools body.
