cs2103 - THE "MISSING FROM WINDOWS" CD
June, 2012 Edition Copyright Arnold Kochman. Other copyrights also apply, including in particular but not limited to, the General Public License. Good software tools in support of administration are automatically available in serious operating systems such as UNIX,Linux, or even Mac OS in its later forms, but not in Windows. This CD is an attempt to cure these deficiencies with a kit of software packages. While it is impossible to validate each program for every version and update level of Windows, in general these programs will run on all 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows. For some programs you may need to install additional software such as java or the .net framework, if not already installed. The chosen distribution files should be copied to the hard disk. Self extracting executables (.exe) and Microsoft Installer files(.msi) can be invoked directly from windows to launch the installation. However, often the distribution is in the form of a compressed archive, e.g. a .zip file. Compressed archives must be expanded; if you do not already have software for this purpose,install the 7-zip package first and use it. Once the package has been unpacked, look for installation instructions.I believe these programs to be useful, but naturally I can not guaranty the suitability of any program for your purpose, or any purpose.
