A clustering, trunking yucca that can reach 20 feet in height with a 3 to 5 inch diameter trunk. The dark green strap leaves are stiff and very sharp, presenting an almost impenetrable barrier to man and beast. White bell-shaped flowers emerge in late spring or early summer. This yucca is native to South Atlantic and Gulf coasts and thrives in full to part sun. It is drought tolerant and very tropical in appearance. It spreads by seed and offshoots. Older plants may become top-heavy but continue to live and grow if they collapse. Hardy to zone 7.
