Only one inch wide and weighing in at about half the weight of the original, the new PlayStation 2 packs a powerful punch. While keeping all of the functionality of its predecessor--including the ability to play all of the titles in the huge PlayStation and PlayStation 2 catalogue as well as music CDs and DVD movies

The new PS2 adds built-in Ethernet, so it's ready for online gaming out of the box. An analog modem port is also included for non-broadband gaming.
