The I Mix Onboard is a new product from LR Baggs that combines the IBeam and the Element pickups with a side-mounted preamp/mixer. The entire system is completely self-contained, and no outboard electronics are required. If you want the benefits of a dual source sound but do not want to haul around a bunch of outboard gear, or you are upgrading an existing onboard preamp system, the iMix Onboard is the perfect solution.
The iMix Onboard combines the award-winning I-Beam pickup and the high-performance Element pickup with a side-mounted all-discrete class A FET preamp/stereo mixer. With the acclaimed fidelity of the I-Beam and the presence and feedback resistance of the Element, the versatile iMix is ideal for any venue. And with its adjustable mid contour controls for both the I-Beam and Element -- and a low cut control for the I-Beam -- perfected tone is available for any guitar.
The iMix is engineered for guitarists that play in diverse situations and environments: the multiple-award-winning iBeam delivers fidelity comparable to the world's best studio microphones (see The iBeam Challenge), while the Element offers presence and stability to accommodate the demands stage use, such as cutting through a loud mix. The all-discrete class A preamp/EQ is built with quality components designed to naturally support the pickups' unique characteristics, and features contour controls that give you the power to breathe even more life into your sound.
IMix Onboard Preamp/EQ - The IMix On board’s side-mounted preamp/eq is a direct replacement for many factory-installed side-mount preamps and has Volume, Bass and Treble controls, a Phase switch, and a Stereo Blender control to blend between the IBeam and the Element. It also has an LED indicator to show a power-on condition. The preamp turns on automatically when the instrument cable is plugged into the endpin jack. An easy-access battery compartment is built into the onboard preamp.
