The Kennedy Half Dollar is considered by many the #1 collector coin in the country. The obverse shows the Bust of our past president and features the dual date (1776-1976) in celebration of the bicentennial anniversary. The reverse of the Bicentennial issue shows Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Proofs are double struck on highly polished dies, giving the coin's surface a mirror like finish ... the finest made each year. Mintage figures for the special ""proof"" issues struck only at the San Francisco Mint are significantly lower than the mintages struck in Uncirculated condition. Each coin is encapsulated for protection and storage.
