It would make a great additional to a registry set or to any New England Patriots card collection.Professional football quarterback Thomas Edward "Tom" Brady, Jr. was born August 3, 1977 in San Mateo, California. Brady attended the University of Michigan where he played NCAA college football with the Michigan Wovlerines from 1996 to 1998, the first two years as backup to Brian Griese, who led the Wolverines to the National Championship game in 1997. Brady was All-Big Ten (honorable mention) both seasons and team captain his senior year. The Wolverines won 20 of 25 games when he started and shared the Big Ten Conference title in 1998. The New England Patriots selected Tom Brady in the 6th round of the 2000 NFL Draft. He started his NFL career as the fourth string quarterback, behind starter Drew Bledsoe and backups John Friesz and Michael Bishop. By the season end, Brady was the second string quarterback and when Bledsoe was injured early in the 2001 season, took over the starting position. Brady is now considered one of the top quarterbacks in the league. He has led the Patriots to four Super Bowls, winning three of them (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX), and earning two Super Bowl MVP awards (XXXVI and XXXVIII). He owns over a dozen NFL records including most passing touchdowns in a season; most career Super Bowl completions and most consecutive playoff wins by a quarterback.
