The US First Day Covers in this product are shown in the photograph provided below. FDC lot includes: 1955 3¢ Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Stamp, Art Craft FDC (US Scott #1064); 1955 3¢ Rotary International Anniversary Stamp, Art Craft FDC FDC (US Scott #1066); 1955 3¢ Armed Forces Reserve Stamp, Artmaster FDC (US Scott #1067) and a 1955 3¢ Soo Locks Centenary Stamp, Art Craft FDC (US Scott #1069). The envelopes are #6 3/4 size covers and measures ~6 1/2" by 3 5/8" (inches) or 164 mm by 92 mm. They are all addressed. This United States commemorative postage stamp was released by the US Post Office in honor of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts 150th anniversary, the oldest art museum and school in the US. Designed by McCloskey, Jr., it features a self-portrait of artist and scientist Charles Willson Peale, who took the lead in building the institution. Arranged in four lines of type across the top of the stamp is "3¢ U.S. POSTAGE" "150th ANNIVERSARY" "THE PENNSYLVANIA ACADEMY" "OF THE FINE ARTS." The first line refers to the stamp's three-cent face value. Engraved by C. A. Brooks and printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) in Washington, DC. The stamp features a world globe and a flaming torch held by a hand and arm, symbolizing the carrying of enlightment to all parts of the world. Chickering, it features five male enlisted personal, attired in uniforms of the five branches of military service. The men from left to right are: Marines, Coast Guard, Army, Navy and Air Force. A large American Eagle shield provides a back drop for the soldiers. "ARMED FORCES RESERVE" in dark block letters runs along the top border and "UNITED STATES POSTAGE" in light block letters runs along the lower border. Chickering, it features a map of the Great Lakes against a sky and water background with a lake steamer under way. In the upper right portion of the stamp is the wording "SOO LOCKS * 1855 SAULT SAINTE MARIE 1955' and arranged in two lines at the bottom of the stamp is "A CENTURY OF GREAT LAKES TRANSPORTATION."
