Edwards attended Stanford University where he played NCAA college football from 2003-2006. Edwards' best year was 2005, where he started all 11 games, completed 168 of 268 passes for 1934 yards and 17 touchdowns, leading the Cardinal to a 5-6 record. Edwards was picked by the Buffalo Bills in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He made his NFL debut on September 23, 2007 against the New England Patriots and was named to the 2007 All-Rookie Team. After sharing time with J. P. Losman his first two seasons, Edwards has become the Bills starting quarterback.
