1988 FLEER #74 ALAN TRAMMELL CARD – PSA GEM MINT 10

Another nice collectible for your consideration. You are looking at (1) 1988 Fleer #74 Alan Trammell Card PSA GEM MINT 10. This card has been graded by PSA, the leader in graded cards, as GEM MINT 10. The card is PSA #12269599. It would make a great addition to any Detroit Tigers or registry collection.

Former Major League Baseball player Alan Trammell was born on February 21, 1958 in Garden Grove, California. Trammell was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 2nd round of the 1978 MLB Amateur Draft. "Tram" made his major league debut on September 9, 1977 in a victory over the Boston Red Sox. In his first appearance he made two hits from three at bats and would become one of the best defensive shortstops of the 1980s and an anchor in the Detroit’s lineup for 20 seasons. Trammell's solid, steady defense perfectly complemented the play of his double play partner, Lou Whitaker, with whom Trammell formed a 19 season keystone-combination in Major League Baseball history. "Tram" played his final game September 29, 1996.

In his 20 year career, Trammell batted .285, with 185 home runs, 1003 RBI, 1231 runs, 2365 hits, 412 doubles, 55 triples, and 236 stolen bases in 2293 games. He was a six-time All-Star member (1980, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988 & 1990); 1984 World Series MVP; Four-time Gold Gloves winner (1980, 1981, 1983 & 1984); Three-time Silver Sluggers (1987, 1988 & 1990) and finished second in the 1987 MVP voting. After finishing his playing career, Trammell served as a hitting coach for Detroit (1999), the first base coach for the San Diego Padres (2000-02), and the manager for the Detroit Tigers (2003-05).
