See scan below. The 1986 25¢ Bread Wagon Coil Stamp was first issued on Saturday, November 22, 1986, at the VAPEX stamp show and exhibition held at the Pavillon Convention Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This United States definitive postage stamp was released by the USPS as the 25th issue in it's Transporation Issue Series. Designed by William Bond of Arlington, Virginia, it depicts a 1880s style bread wagon and is based on historic drawings and photographs of various wagons. Above the wagon is "Nread Wagon 1880s" and "25 USA." The later refers to the stamp's twenty-five cent face value. Engraved by Edward P. Archer (vignette) and Michael J. Ryan (letters and numerals). Printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) in Washington, DC on the intaglio press with brown ink on white paper, released in coil rolls 3,000 individually perforated 10 vertically with a plate number every 52nd stamp. This stamp is known to philatelic collectors as US Scott Catalogue #2136. The demand for this stamp exploded when the letter rate increased to twenty five cents on April 3, 1988.The Transportation Series or Transportation Issue is a set of definitive coil stamps issued by the United States Postal Service (USPS) between 1981 and 1995. The theme of the series was historial transportation vehicles. The designs are spare, consisting only of the vehicle itself, and with inscriptions describing the general type ("Circus Wagon" or "Ferryboat") and a date, either a decade or sometimes a specific year. The stamps are primarily engraved, almost all in a single color on plain white paper (the $1 seaplane is in two colors). Transportation stamps exist in an unprecedented array of denominations. Some of the denominations also received special service inscriptions in black, such as "Bulk Rate" or "ZIP + 4 Presort". Many of those denominations were unusual fractional rates, such as 16.7 or 24.1 cents, used by bulk mailers and non-profits.Be sure to add me to your favorites list!FREE US shipping. Elsewhere $4.00.
