Pickett attended the University of Washington where he was starting quarterback for the Huskies from 2001 to 2003, finish his career No. 4 in Pac-10 history in yardage with 10220 yards. Pickett was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the 7th round of the 2004 NFL Draft. Pickett started the 2004 season as the fourth string quarterback, but with rookie Alex Smith and Alex Smith injured, and Tim Ratty traded, Pickett became starter. Pickett was traded to the Houston Texans in 2006, after seeing playing time in 7 NFL games, 2 in 2004 and 5 in 2005. Signed by the Oakland Raiders in July 2007 to a one-year contract, but released on August 1st. He is currently with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League.
