The Philadelphia Phillies selected Ricky Jordan in the 1st round (22nd pick overall) in the 1983 MLB Draft. He played for the Philadelphia Phillies from 1988 to the 1994 player strike. He was signed as a free agent by with the California Angels during 1995 and purchased from the Angels by the Seattle Mariners in 1996. Jordan made his MLB debut on July 17, 1988 after Von Hayes went on the DL and won the starting first base job by hitting .308 with 11 homers in 273 at-bats.
