Devloped in 1980 as a "better" Tied Down Caddis Nymph. This pattern performed extremely well and continues to be a great fish catcher as a caddis or stonefly imitation. The shellback is made from non-hollow material and the fly is heavily weighted. A couple of turns of ostrich herl at the head provide a more realistic head and even more action in the water.
