KT-1 Key Chain Token The KT-1 Key Chain token provides unparalleled convenience in a portable, computing-environment-independent token. Its simplicity makes it the ideal authentication token for users of virtually any skill level. The KT-1 Key Chain token generates a new passcode each time the token is activated. The token is activated by pressing the button beside the LCD display. Recommended usage Authenticate users at network, system, application, and desktop levels Secure internal and remote network access Compatible with leading remote access servers, wireless access points, Web servers, firewalls, and VPNs Programmable Tokens The KT-1 Key Chain tokens can be initialized with a new key using the optional KT initializer. The token can also be reprogrammed to modify password complexity, encryption algorithms and other attributes. The default operating parameters for pre-programmed tokens are: Encryption Type: AES 192-bit Passcode Type: Numeric Passcode Length: 6 PIN Type: prepend to password The KT-1 Key Chain tokens support a wide range of operating modes that can be modified using CRYPTO-Server and a serial token initializer, according to organizational and security policy requirements. The initialization process requires 10-15 seconds to per token. Key configurable features include: Authentication mode Event Synchronous Challenge/Response Encryption algorithm AES 128, 192, 256 Passcode management Passcode complexity Passcode length Passcodes per PIN cycle PIN management Server-side PIN Token-based PIN PIN complexity PIN length Maximum number of consecutive, incorrect PIN attempts Key management Key length selection (AES 128, 192, 256 Key is randomized with each initialization The KT-1 Key Chain token is powered by two replaceable coin-cell batteries that provide 5 years of service. Batteries may be replaced as required to extend the service life of the token. A low battery warning will appear on the LCD display approximately two months before the batteries are exhausted. The KT-1 Token Initializer is used by the Security Administrator to modify the operating and security parameters of the KT-1 Key Chain token during the initialization process. It provides the physical interface between the CRYPTO-Server and the token. Tokens to be programmed or reprogrammed are inserted into the initializer. Initialization typically requires 10-15 seconds per token. There is no limit to the number of times a token may be initialized. Initializers are installed on CRYPTO-Server Consoles via a USB connection. To provide for distributed token management, initializers can be installed on as many Consoles as required. Only Operators with sufficient privileges established by the Security Adminstrator are able to initialize tokens.
