Tilso Musical Dancing Figurine (Bisque)

A beautiful pair of dancing lovers from Tilso (see below). In wonderful condition, all fingers and toes intact with no chips. The base is a little worn, but the couple like we said are wonderful. The base is wind-up and plays a little tune (which one I can't say, not familiar with it and it is a little out of tune. But considering it's age, still not bad. The music box/part was made by Sankyo for Tilso). The couple can be put on the stand or be removed (personally I think they look great on their own and I also feel the base may not be that stable after all these years) They stand 7 inches tall and their base is 1 1/4 tall. This piece was another one of my great aunt's (mom here).


(Tilso was part of L.Batlin and Son, a New York City-based company that was formed sometime prior to 1913. L.Batlin and Son began as dealers of antiques, and following the depression formed the import company Tilso. They imported various ceramic items from Japan. Tilso was in business until 1976. The name Tilso was derived from the names of the owners wife and daughter, Tillie and Sonia)
