This brand of Voice Grabber by Martel Electronics provides a clear backup for recording of depositions.
I used a Voice Grabber to record interrogation of suspects and interviews of witnesses at the police department where I used to work. This is an absolutely wonderful gadget and guarantees a clear recording, resulting in a concise transcription - it also takes up very little space on a conference table. I've had my grabber for several years now and have only needed to change the battery (inexpensive watch battery) on occasion.
In short, it works great, takes up very little space, requires virtually no maintenance and provides a clear recording for later transcription. Whew :-)
This is my "backup" Voice Grabber that was rarely, if ever, used. It comes with a switch control box, battery and case. Martel describes it as a "High performance microphone designed to pickup sounds equally from all directions within the space above and around microphone, making it ideal and highly useful for professional recording and high quality sound reinforcement for conferences, stage productions, etc."
