Beijing Opera has a history of more than 500 years although the name Beijing Opera is only about 200 years old. The art form which is very popular in China has its roots in Anhui Province. Each mask represents the makeup used to portray a particular type of person, i.e. teacher, Beijing Opera 8 Mask Setgovernment leader, etc. The masks come in many different sizes but all are in vibrant colors.
Each mask is about 2" long. Comes with display case as shown. Ceramic.
