These were part of a first edition publication in which the editor took on the task of reproducing the finest etchings and lithographs by the foremost American artists who were still living at that time. This authentic book plate is guaranteed to be over 70 years old and original, not a photocopy or later edition reprint. All of these prints are the original book plate from the publication, carefully removed to preserve the integrity of the paper. They are printed in black and white, and are of a good quality. There is minimal yellowing of the pages, nothing out of character for the vintage of the print. The centering of the print to the page is decent on all of these prints of this series, and can easily be trimmed by the buyer to allow for framing. I have not matted or framed these book plates. Each print is about 12.5" x 9.5", plus or minus, including the border. This border allows for trimming or matting and framing. On the reverse is a description of the subject matter, name of print, and artist's name. This will not show through on the front side when the print is framed. The scan shows the actual item that you will receive, and may have been cropped, but has not otherwise been touched up or altered.
