This is another of the group I found that seem to represent endangered creatures. The story I was given was that these were all done in Swarovski crystals for the World Wildlife Fund...created by Swarovski since he was a member of their board, but not signed in any way.
It seems accurate about the group being the endangered ones...the collection includes another turtle, a koala bear, a dolphin, and a tiger. I can't verify the connection to Swarovski, but did find that he was indeed an integral part of that organization.
This sweet little one must be a younger cousin...definitely a lady because of her feminine design! She's done with the same green rhinestone eyes but has a much daintier "shell"...done in a gorgeous amethyst colored glass stone that looks like satin, surrounded by a circle of sparkling clear chaton rhinestones.
The goldtoned metal is finished in a sort of embossed feeling to give even more character to this young lady. She measures about 1-7/8" x 1-1/8" and is in excellent condition.
She's just the right size to be a sweet accent whenever she's worn...and with her lovely "coloring", she'll be a hit wherever she goes!
