This Prehistoric Ammonite Fossil Stencil is so cool! Great for raised plaster stenciling. This fossil stencil design was hand drawn based on a real fossil for accuracy. Check out the detail! These fossil stencils look great painted, or done dimensionally with the plaster of your choice. Add some antiquing,and you've got a realistic prehistoric fossil of a creature that lived over 400 million years ago. Great for wall decor,kitchen and bath backsplashes, kids rooms, and even on canvas panels as art, it looks that good.

Single overlay stencil.
For 3d stencil effect, simply tape the stencil to the surface with blue painter's tape and trowel the plaster through your stencil. Then lift the stencil, let the fossil dry completely, light sand with 220 grit sandpaper, and add some antiquing glaze for more dramatic look.To clean the stencil, simply lay it on a flat surface (like a baking tray) and lightly scrub with a dish washing brush under running water. Never let the plaster dry on a stencil, soak it in a tray full of water if you can't clean it immediately.

The stencil is made out of durable 12 mil clear plastic stencil material. This material is strong but flexible, reusable and easy to clean. We love it so much more than standard 5-8 mil Mylar! It's not brittle, user friendly and just so easy to work with. In our many years of professional stenciling this material has proven to be far superior than any other stencil material we used.
