Footloose & Francie Free Two O'Clock Courage is a collaboration between friends, playing the music they love with a unique AmeriCeltic sound. Utilizing a variety of instrumentation, Two O'Clock Courage creates original arrangements of traditional and some not-so-traditional tunes and songs from England, Ireland, Scotland and other musical realms. Original compositions by Tom and Steve, in the traditional vein, are also integral in the band's popularity. The focal point of the band, however, is their vocal harmonies. Wolf Loescher began his singing career with Two O'Clock Courage, a Celtic folk group he formed in 1993 in Austin, Texas. His first recorded vocal performances can be found on the group's first album, Feets of Courage. In 1997, he co-founded the band SixMileBridge, and continued to hone his vocal ability through extensive touring and three albums. In 1998 he embarked on a solo career and has built a loyal following based on his selection of unique songs from a variety of genres, and his ability to tell the stories behind them. (Not content to rest on his laurels however, Wolf has assembled a top-notch group of players for a new Celtic rock project: Jiggernaut. For more information on this exciting band, check out their Bandstore web page) As in previous projects, Wolf will continue to draw from the rich musical and historical traditions of Scotland and Ireland. Wolf paints vivid portraits of Celtic culture as it was and is, performing a mix of traditional and modern material. Wolf will also be exploring the maritime tradition of the Shantymen...men whose unaccompanied voices were strong enough to rise above the sea squalls and gales to coordinate the work on deck, or amuse their mates during a long cold night on watch. Wolf accompanies himself on guitar, Irish bouzouki (an eight-stringed long-necked cousin of the mandolin), bodhran (pronounced BOW-ron, a traditional Irish and Scottish frame drum), and performs the occasional a Capella number. This exquisite piece of retro music history is a sound recording in the format of a multi-track compact disc, not a vinyl record.
