A documentary series chronicling the history of the greatest conflict of the 20th century THE SECOND WORLD WAR continues with VOLUME THREE: THE FALL OF FRANCE AND BRITAIN STANDS ALONE. These two parts detail what occurred after the German attack on Poland and the declarations of war that flew back and forth as a result. After that battle was largely over Germany quickly turned around and attacked France catching the divided nation unawares and leading to its quick surrender. This left Great Britain as Western Europe's only major power to face the Nazi threat.
