Matted Vintage Photograph of Kau Kau Korner Crossroads, c 1940;
Reproduction set in professional matte on board from the Bishop Museum, Honolulu Hawaii; 11" x 14" ready for frame; Photographer: R.J. Baker
This reproduction was approved & certified by the Bishop Museum (Certificate from the Bishop Museum is attached to the back of the piece)
The Kau Kau Korner was originally located at the entrance of Waikiki. This sign was a world famous landmark and topped the list of places to visit while on Oahu. The sign was soon made into a postcard in the 1930's and sold second only to a view of Diamond Head.
The well-known spot was given the name "Kau Kau"... This piece of Hawaiian history graphically showed Hawaii as a modern day crossroads as people migrated throughout the Pacific.
