Created by Jack Kirby during his run on 2001: A Space Oddessy, Machine Man was unique at the time--and is still a very strong supporting character for Marvel Comics! In the Marvel Comics Fan Magazine FOOM # 20, he does an interview and states "I really like Machine Man--the story moves quickly and almost writes itself and the character is very fun to work with"! Jack was at his 1970's creative peaak here!
"House of Nightmares!" finds Machine Man hunted by a US Army Crack Squad that wants to take him down--a sentient Robot is considered a threat to the USA!!
But while they're hunting him, he's been damaged and cannot fly and must repair himself--so he finds a Car Repair Shop and makes them a diamond from a stone to pay!
He fashions a cool set of wheels, basically making himself a living Motorcycle--and the chase is on!!
