[rare] WPG MOUNTAIN MEN IN MOTION! DVD Lost Physique Films of Don Whitman Gay Posing Beefcake

This DVD (Copy No.4) contains the unedited versions of five 16 mm films by Western Photography Guild, photographer Don Whitman.

We believe they date from the mid 1960's. They have been in storage since 1965. WPG was attempting to expand their offerings to movies about this time. From the photographers notes we know that he was using a high end German 16mm camera to make the films with.

Then on June 16th 1965 there was a catastrophic flood of the South Platte River which flows through Denver. The WPG studio was near the river and was all but destroyed. The motion picture camera was sent in for repair after the flood, but was too badly damaged. Apparently no more motion picture work was attempted after the flood.

These films have been a part of the WPG material that remained after Don Whitman passed away. They were in a cardboard box with several films from other physique studios. They were not labeled in any way. We only recently realized that they were indeed WPG films and not the work of other studios. Without access to a projector, we looked at the films on a light table with a powerful loop. We recognized the models and the location and realized we had found something very special. The only known physique films made by Western Photography Guild. So we decided to have them professionally cleaned and transferred to DVD.

The models in the film are Larry Scott, Carter Lovisone, Jerry Abbott and I believe Paul Wacholz. The films were made in Castlewood Canyon, SE of Denver Colorado. ("Hidden Valley" as Don Whitman referred to it).

We have not edited or added anything. These are the raw films as they were originally made. It is a brief glimpse into a bygone era, and a unique piece of physique photography history. We hope you enjoy the motion picture work of the Western Photography Guild. Almost lost forever. Finally being seen after more then 50 years!
