Consistent warmth encourages metabolic processes essential for rooting while avoiding extremes that could hinder growth.
Equally important is maintaining high humidity levels, ideally around 80–90%, to prevent the cuttings from drying out before roots have formed. High humidity reduces water loss through transpiration, keeping the cuttings hydrated and creating an environment conducive to root formation.
This can be achieved by placing the cuttings in a propagation dome or covering them with a plastic bag to create a mini greenhouse effect, ensuring they remain in a stable, moisture-rich environment.
