Up for bid are seeds of the Drummond's Red Maple. These are named Red Maples because their small flowers that often go unnoticed are red, although they do often get red fall foliage. This particular form of Red Maple also gets extraordinarily bright red Samaras (developing seeds) after flowering in spring which makes the trees look bright red for a time in spring. It is a beautiful US native tree that gets great green foliage with felty silver under sides, until fall when these become some of the most beautiful trees around with fall colors in shades of orange, red, and even purple. These beautiful plants are hardy to USDA zone 5, possibly colder, and they grow best in full sun to part shade. They would make excellent additions to your rare plant collection, or just make a unique statement in your yard.
