Capsicum frutescens Hot Returns ZONE 7B PERENNIAL HOT PEPPER - Seeds FJ

Up for bid are seeds of Capsicum frutescens Hot Returns. This is an exciting Pepper-we don't normally sell or get excited about many vegetable varieties, but this is an exception. While all Peppers are technically perennials, most are generally only hardy in tropical or very warm subtropical regions, but this variety has performed very well in numerous gardens ranging from zone 7b through many areas of zone 8, and all have returned the next season to produce again - there is also good reason to try them in zone 7a to see how they do there. The Peppers are pretty hot - supposedly around 100,000 scoville heat units - to me they have a tabasco like taste and the Peppers are usually around an inch long, although some are larger and some are smaller. Of course even if you live in an area colder than zone 7 or 8, they can be grown in a pot and brought indoors during the winter or grown as annuals like other Peppers commonly are. Regardless, these plants would make excellent additions to your vegetable or permaculture garden.
