Spectacular summer color from lightly fragrant, lavender bluish flower spikes that draw wildlife into the garden. Nacho Blue is a butterfly bush cultivar which features flowers in shades of lavender and blue. It is a deciduous shrub with an arching, spreading habit which typically grows 6-8' tall if not cut back in late winter and 4-5' tall if cut back. Features spike-like 4-10" long terminal clusters of bluish lavender flowers which bloom from June to September and sometimes to first frost. Flowers are fragrant.

Easy to grow in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Prune back or cut to the ground in late winter or early spring. Deadhead regularly.

This fast-growing evergreen shrub or tree needs a regular water schedule to ensure the growth of a mature root system. After the mature root system is established, watering is needed occasionally, except during a drought, watering is needed regularly. Shear quarterly to maintain desired shape. To maximize its growth allow the necessary amount of space.
