Mixing the masculine with the feminine, this design uses the human body as a vehicle through art. The tuxedo-style shirt is accented with a bowtie; the faux leather jacket is tailored with exaggerated shoulders.
Created by Breanna Riley, Aurore Donguy and Jin Ok Kwak for the St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco, this piece was featured at Discarded to Divine 2009, a fundraiser to raise money for the poor and homeless of San Francisco.

Founded in 1860, the St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco provides human services to over 1,000 men, women and children every day through a spectrum of programs. Our mission is to offer hope and service to the poor and suffering on a direct person-to-person basis, working to break the cycles of homelessness, substance abuse and domestic violence.
Our programs include a detox center for homeless and low-income people; a sobriety-oriented affordable single-room occupancy residence; a free clothing- and grocery-distribution program; the city's largest continuum of shelters and services for battered women and their children; and the largest homeless shelter in northern California.
