Old York pottery cookie jar, blue glazed stoneware

Old blue York pottery cookie jar is glazed inside and out and stands 8" tall with an opening at top for a 5-1/4" lid. The horizontally ribbed piece swells to a diameter of 8-1/4" below a prominent ear or handle on either side. In very good condition, the cookie jar is missing its lid, but makes it that much easier to steal a cookie or two - or you can use it for a large bouquet of flowers as the cornflower blue would look great with black eyed Susans, chicory or daisies. Marked "P" in a keystone and the number 1000 on an unglazed base, it appears to have the angular lines of the Art Deco period. Please add extra for shipping.
