green aventurine pendant

Aventurine is a form of quartz, characterised by its translucency and the presence of platy mineral inclusions that give it a shimmering or glistening effect termed aventurescence.

This green aventurine pendant was hand cut and shaped, then tumble polished. It is slightly domed on both sides with a 2.5mm hole drilled front to back and strung on a cord with sliding knots so it can be adjusted from 15" to 28" in length.

Please note that some of the darker pendants with lots of pyrite inclusions has a slightly pitted surface giving it a rugged appearance.
