"We are still discovering the shocking truth about the fate of the Nazis after World War II. Every now and then the question returns, how did they manage to escape the inevitable punishment for the crimes committed? How did so many of them hold prominent, high positions after the war? Curt Riess predicted this development as early as 1944. In his book, he revealed the mechanisms by which the most prominent Nazis and their most important collaborators would escape punishment. He showed how, through conformity and deception on an unimaginable scale, they will perfectly find themselves in the post-war reality.
"Riess writes that as early as 1943, high Nazi officials began preparations for the defeat of the Reich. Disillusioned with Hitler, the main architects of his system – Martin Bormann and Heinrich Himmler – created a top-secret program for the Nazi Party to go underground. Since the war was already lost, it became important to survive in order to resume the fight sometime in the future.
