WORLD WAR II - War Department Pamphlet No. 21-1 - 29 July 1943
Description: Here's an interesting historical item for collectors of World War II memorabilia. It's a 4-page pamphlet No. 21-1) issued by the United States War Department entitled "WHEN YOU ARE OVERSEAS THESE FACTS ARE VITAL". It's purpose was to instruct overseas U.S. military personnel on the safeguarding of military information, in both written and verbal communication. It details prohibited subjects, details how letters are to be addressed, and what actions to take in the event of capture or risk of capture, among other things. It was issued in the name of "G. C. MARSHALL, Chief of Staff".
Actual size: approx. 8" x 5.25"
Date: 29 July 1943
Condition: Good, I'd say. The pamphlet is slightly worn and soiled, and was once folded in quarters. The upper right corner is creased on the front page and a bit crumpled on the last. (All 4 pages shown in scans.)
**NOTE**: Shipping charges are discounted when more than one of my items are purchased at the same time. See what else I have to offer!
