Growing mignonette from seed is not difficult, but flower seeds should be grown outside because the plants do not transplant well. Prepare a seedbed by placing mignonette seeds on the surface and pressing flower seeds into the soil to barely cover. Maintain humidity until germination. Thin mignonette seedlings to the tallest plants, 12 inches apart. Young Reseda odorata plants should be pruned to encourage a bushier habit. Mignonette seeds can be sown longer to create a longer growing season.
