His daughter, on the other hand, hesitated about leaving her work and her fiance Cal Carter, the office manager of the firm where she was employed. Yet eventually her sense of obligation to her parents overcame her objections and she set forth to help the older couple build a cabin in the wilderness, while she herself staked a claim against the day when Cal would be able to join her as her husband. Natalie learned to cope with nature and the elements, but coping with an absentee sweetheart proved somewhat more difficult.
